ABOUT BRENDAN ⎯
Brendan has always had a strong relationship with his tactical nature, exploring multiple pathways over the passed 8 years that speaks to a language of feeling, sensing and holding.
Brendan’s first step in education began with a Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Southern School of Natural Therapies in Melbourne, where intrigue sparked at the fascination of the human anatomy and physiology, building a foundation of musculoskeletal assessment and clinical techniques to assist with injuries and chronic pain.
Following four years of experience at Milk and Honey Remedial Massage in Melbourne’s west, Brendan naturally gravitated towards eastern medicine and philosophy and began further studies at the Australian College of Shiatsu.
Through the lineage of Shizuto Masunaga, the college honoured his system that merged ideas from Western psychology and physiology, traditional Chinese medicine and Zen Buddhism.
The work of Gwyn Williams whispered interest into Brendan’s ears, and in 2019, moving life from Melbourne city to Byron Bay for further education into Zenthai Shiatsu with Gwyn Williams
Founded by Gwyn Williams, with a community home base on Mount Ninderry in the Sunshine Coast, ZenThai Shiatsu invites us to step into a safe and supported healing environment so we can explore without judgment, let go without resistance and love without boundaries.
Brendan continued with studies into Wholistic Counselling with Brenda Sutherland in Brisbane, assisting in a safer space to hold the stories that present themselves through touch.
As Zenthai Shiatsu has grown, Brendan now offers support as an assistant teacher in the 12 month programme in Byron Bay, held by Merryn Pennington, and is stepping forward with workshops and retreat spaces across the Northern Rivers and South East Asia.
